Attorney Heather Johnston's innovative and collaborative strategies, even amid the often harsh litigation process, have produced many positive resolutions for her clients. In 2006, Attorney Johnston became certified as a forensic interviewer by the State of Ohio Attorney General’s Office “Finding Words” prestigious and innovative program. She is also highly trained in mediation, a process used to facilitate a non-litigated resolution of any issue. She is also practices as a collaborative divorce attorney and is able to represent clients through this non-litigation process of achieving a dissolution in a transparent process sometimes with the aid of neutral parties like business valuators or communication experts.
Attorney Johnston gained valuable legal experience in a wide variety of civil and criminal litigation matters and currently practices primarily family law, adoption, child support and custody matters. She has gained invaluable perspective advocating for hundreds of children involved in dependency, neglect and abuse cases both as a court appointed and volunteer guardian ad litem.
Attorney Heather Johnston (formerly Heather Dyer) earned her Juris Doctorate in 2002 from the University of Florida Levine College of Law in Gainesville, Florida. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication in 1998 from the University of Akron. While at Akron, Attorney Johnston was an honor’s student and was on the Dean’s list and was inducted into the Golden Key National Honors Society.
